Warmer Homes and Lower Bills
Renewable Heating Benefits
There are many advantages of installing a renewable modern energy system, from cost savings, to cleaner energy providing a better future for our children.
Reduced Dependency on Fossil Fuels
The use of a biomass boiler or heat pump greatly reduces our dependency on fossil fuels as both alternatives are sustainable energy supplies. Biomass wood fuel is derived from recently grown organic matter, replanting this matter allows us to replace and reproduce this energy source sustainably; whereas heat pumps take low grade heat from the air, ground or water which is replenished by the sun. Both of these modern energy solutions are a sustainable, reliable, heating solution – unlike fossil fuels that climb sharply in price when demand outstrips supply, that will dwindle and/or become more expensive to extract.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) turns your heating requirements from a financial drain into a cash generator, through regular payments that are based upon the amount of fuel you use. A government bonded, guaranteed grant scheme to support the move from extreme carbon fossil fuels to sustainable renewable energy. This subsidy is available to all types of organisations or residential properties that make the switch from fossil fuels to a renewable alternative, such as heat pumps or a biomass boiler – not too dissimilar to the Feed In Tariffs (FITs) aimed to encourage solar PV uptake. The RHI will see your initial cost paid off in an average of 5 to 10 years, often providing payments that run for several more years to generate a significant return on your investment.
Renewable Energy solutions provide substantial benefits for our climate. Through the burning of fossil fuels we are actively overloading our atmosphere with emissions, such as carbon dioxide, that contribute to global warming. Greenhouse gases that result in trapped heat increasing the temperature of our planet. This harmful for our health, wellbeing and environment today, but also risks irreversible change in our planets climate in the future. Renewable heating systems use energy sources that are constantly replenished; such as heat from the ground, which have the potential to provide heat and hot water to homes and businesses indefinitely.
Lower Energy Bills
Although installing a modern energy system often results in a higher up front cost than fossil fuel alternatives, the post install benefits can provide a 20-50% drop in annual energy bills. Renewable heating also ensures your energy bills are not altered by factors out of the UK’s control, as is the case with fossil fuels supplied by foreign states, allowing you to have a full understanding of the cost to heat your home, not only now but also for the future.
With a modern energy system from Ecovision you can supply heat from a single plant room directly to multiple homes and businesses, eliminating the need to produce heat at each individual location. District heating solutions benefit single or multiple investors with significant cost savings versus the installation cost of multiple systems. A well designed district heating system will run more efficiently than multiple boilers providing savings that can be passed down the line to users and bill payers.
