Randwick Village Hall – This comprehensive installation earned Ecovision the “installer of the year” award at the REGEN award ceremony for the South West of England.

Electric strip heating is probably one of the least energy efficient ways of warming a large public space, and Randwick Village Hall Committee was determined to replace this outdated system because the cost restricted their capacity to open the facility. What was required was a 100% carbon neutral system which would allow them to open the hall seven days per week.

Ecovision advised the installation of a 17kW ground source heat pump. Six 45m trenches were dug in nearby playing fields. Cavity wall insulation was installed, the windows were double glazed, and the radiators were upgraded for maximum efficiency when coupled with the heat pump system. Photo-voltaic panels were fitted to the hall roof to supply the power required by the heat pump, resulting in a highly efficient, totally self-contained system, requiring no external power inputs whatsoever.

This comprehensive installation earned Ecovision the “Installer of the Year” award at the REGEN award ceremony for the South West of England, and now supplies all the building’s heat, and all its hot water (including sufficient for the hall’s showers which are used by local sports teams).
