July 6th marked the 6th annual Business Green Leaders Awards, with over 600 executives, entrepreneurs and investors coming together to celebrate the year’s best achievements within the green industry. The Business Green Leaders Awards are respected nationwide for showcasing businesses within the UK that are pushing boundaries in the application of sustainable solutions commercially. Along with Ecovision, finalists of the Business Green Leaders Awards included O2, Panasonic, The National Trust, Bank of America and Light Source Energy. The theme this year was ‘Making the Paris Agreement a reality’, drawing on the pledges in forging a low carbon and sustainable economy.
“All the significant policy challenges and daunting environmental pressures organisations now face there remains a genuine sense of optimism that the business community can and will deliver a truly sustainable, prosperous, and climate resilient economy over the coming decades. This optimism is evident …as each of our finalists demonstrate how new technologies, investments, and approaches can combine to blaze a viable green trail for others to follow”, commented James Murray, Editor-in-Chief of Business Green.
Ecovision were Highly Commended in the ‘Renewable Energy Project of the Year’ category, which showcases the most exciting and innovative projects commissioned in the last year. The award recognized the Ecovision installation of a revolutionary 2MW GSHP, which now provides heat to a 16 acre glasshouse greenhouse, growing plants for the horticulture sector. Ecovision provided a full turnkey solution, with consultancy, design, installation and commissioning all the intellectual property and responsibility of Ecovision Systems Ltd. Historically heat pumps have been restricted to a smaller scale, of approximately 500kW, and have required boreholes. With 95,000m of horizontal collector array, this installation will transform renewable heating with its size and capabilities.
“The innovation demonstrated right across the renewable energy sector as developers strive to cut costs, boost yields, and accelerate deployment is something to behold – and the Business Green Leaders Renewable Energy Project of the Year Finalists are no exception. From floating solar farms to solar car ports and cutting edge renewable heat projects, our finalists show how innovative technologies and financing models are uniting to drive renewables investment and make clean energy an increasingly dominant force in the UK energy market.” commented James Murray.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Ecovision for their continued hard work to make the most innovative of projects a reality. We’d also like to thank Business Green Leaders Awards for this recognition and congratulate all other finalists.
