Wet Underfloor Heating
We have long experience in installing wet underfloor heating systems. We’re acknowledged for our expertise in the sector. We’ve designed and installed wet underfloor heating systems in hundreds of properties, from new build homes through to large landmark mansion buildings.
Our underfloor heating is known as a ‘wet’ system because the heat comes from warm water circulating through loops of thin plastic pipe which cover the entire underfloor area.
The heat radiates upwards from the pipes, and is absorbed by the building and furniture inside. Since the pipe-work extends right through the room, heating is even at all points.
Normal radiators do not distribute heat evenly. They depend on very hot surfaces which radiate warmth but also create convection currents which take heat to the top of a room first. Because the warmth comes from a single source, cold-spots naturally develop.
The surface area of underfloor heating pipes in a standard room is, on average, 20 times that of a radiator. It means that the temperature of the water in the system doesn’t need to be so high. Which (naturally enough) means heating costs are a lot less.
When you combine an underfloor heating system with a heat pump, you can look to enjoy a great increase in comfort, and a substantial decrease in home heating bills of up to 70%.
Wet Underfloor heating looks better (no ugly radiators), it’s safer (no chance of young children burning themselves), it’s healthier (less of the airborne dust which is particularly harmful for asthma sufferers), it enhances the value of a home, and it’s maintenance free.
Wet Underfloor Heating is a far more efficient, safer system of home heating.
