Domestic Gas Technical Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Domestic Gas Technical Surveyor to join the new team. In this role, you will be performing domestic central heating surveys in private homes, including boiler replacements, system upgrades and new installation. Initially based at our head office near Tetbury, you will be travelling to customer sites in the West of England, West Midlands and South Wales. We will provide all tools, equipment, uniform and a vehicle for business use.

The key elements of the role include:

  • Carrying out central heating boiler and system installation/replacement surveys to provide a cost effective solution to the customer and business whilst keeping to current gas regulations and energy efficiency legislation.
  • Identifying any defects/issues with the customer's existing heating system that may affect the installation taking place and to discuss alternatives where possible.
  • Identify any on site Health & Safety risks/issues which may hinder the installation taking place.
  • Supplying the customer with a clear understanding of all works to be carried out and any alterations to their property.
  • Demonstrating a high level of customer service at all times and answer any technical questions.
  • Ensure all administration tasks are preformed in line with company procedures.
  • Strictly adhere to company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Flexible approach to working hours for customer demand.

Successful applicants will have extensive knowledge and understanding of all variations of boiler, central heating and electrical installations, building and gas safe regulations, health and safety legislation (including the use of work place assessments). These engineers will successfully perform domestic gas boiler installations, servicing and maintenance, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the customer's satisfaction within the requirements of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations. Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer

Tetbury - Gloucestershire

A new opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer (with in depth training and experience in the design of all elements of renewable energy technologies) to join the existing team and support the Design Engineering Manager in the detailed design and drafting of schematics, plant room layouts and mechanical/electrical design of heat pump, biomass and solar thermal systems.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Detailed design of renewable heat installations with a particular emphasis on the integration of renewable technologies with existing infrastructure. Activities include calculations (of flow rate, heat, current, etc) equipment and control strategy selection, and detailed design and drawing in accordance with installation standards and specifications. A key element of all Ecovision installations is that they meet the technical and commercial expectations of our clients, in addition to our internal objectives as a commercial business
  • Assisting the Design Engineering Manager in the selection and specification of equipment, including evaluation of new technologies and opportunities.
  • In addition to clients, external M&E contractors and consultants, effective liaison with Ecovision Operations and Technical Sales teams. This activity includes initial feasibility assessment at the early quotation/tender stages of a project, on-going support through system design and installation in addition to after sales support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified as a mechanical/electrical/building services engineer at HNC/degree level and above, and have appropriate building services/renewable energy industry qualifications and accreditations.
  • In-depth training and experience in the design of all elements of renewable energy technologies. Knowledge of the design, operation and control of district heat networks would be a distinct advantage as would understanding of heat metering requirements for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
  • Knowledge of pressure systems standards and controls, CDM legislation and the use of CIBSE selection guides. Knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD or similar design software

The roles will involve travel to survey and installation sites within a particular geographical area and company vehicles will be provided for the use during working hours and accommodation provided when the job requires an overnight stay. The surveyors will ideally be based in and cover the following geographical regions:

As Solar PV Surveyors your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting client property surveys in order to assess existing installations for compliance and/or assessing suitability for solar PV system installation.
  • Selecting appropriate remedial works and /or pv system designs and installation methods based on survey findings, including detailed assessments of access methods (this may include technical drawings and schematics).
  • Completing all necessary documentation associated with solar PV surveys, system selection and design.

Conveyancer Contract Manager

This is a brand new role, involving a specific requirement with Land Registry submissions and title deeds, driving our legal compliance objectives and ensuring effective due diligence.

The objectives of this position are to:

  • Evaluate customer title records
  • Create customer contracts in association with company guidelines
  • Be responsible for registering restrictions against title records with HM Land Registry in favour of their Company

  • Biomass installation projects of all scales, ensuring delivery on-time and within budget.
  • Ensuring implementation of and compliance with all biomass related installation standards and procedures. A high standard of work is expected and you will be responsible for ensuring that this is delivered on site.
  • Direct management of all on-site personnel allocated to each installation project.

We are ideally looking for a professional operations/technical manager with a strong aptitude for analysis leading to plans for improvement and who is looking to work in an entrepreneurial venture.     Quantity Surveyor (Part-time)

    We are looking for a part time Quantity Surveyor to provide a quantity surveying service to the Ecovision group of companies and to support cost planning and commercial management during the life cycle of projects from initiation to completion. Reporting to the Group Director of Operations and based in our HQ near Tetbury, you will be working closely with Ecovision staff, particularly operations and finance teams as well as Ecovision clients and main contractors.

    As Ecovision's Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibilities will include:

    • Reviewing all contracts for work, supporting contract negotiation and the identification of project specific risk. You will be responsible for ensuring contract understanding and supporting the operations teams to comply with contracts
    • Generating interim valuations and applications for payment (in collaboration with operations teams)
    • Supporting contract tenders, including detailed job costing and cost analysis and drafting sub-contract works contracts
    • Supporting the generation of sales tools, including costing templates and models, in collaboration with operational specialists
    • Working with the operations management team to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and to budget, identifying cost overrun and opportunities for improvement
    • Working with the finance team to ensure timely payment of client invoices and supporting the company accounting cycle

    We are looking for a highly professional Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial venture. You are likely to have a building services, construction or contracting background, preferably combined with Renewable Energy industry experience. Commercially and financially astute, you will able to demonstrate a track record of successful project delivery and hold appropriate Quantity Surveying qualifications and accreditations.
