
EcoVision have been appointed as the lead energy consultancy for a major urban regeneration project in Northern Ireland. The project, under the management of the Ilex Urban Regeneration Company, is based on the development of two former security bases, Ebrington Barracks and Fort George. The two sites will add some 17 hectares of development area to the city’s land stock and provide a major opportunity for boosting economic development and regeneration of the area.
Ecovison’s focus in the development is in identifying and implementing effective and efficient sustainable energy solutions. A wide range of energy technologies and approaches will be considered, with the emphasis on learning form existing best practices from other urban regeneration projects, as well as from recent innovations in the rapidly developing renewable and sustainable energy sector.
