Domestic Gas Technical Surveyor

Competitive Salary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Domestic Gas Technical Surveyor to join the new team. In this role, you will be performing domestic central heating surveys in private homes, including boiler replacements, system upgrades and new installation. Initially based at our head office near Tetbury, you will be travelling to customer sites in the West of England, West Midlands and South Wales. We will provide all tools, equipment, uniform and a vehicle for business use.

The key elements of the role include:

  • Carrying out central heating boiler and system installation/replacement surveys to provide a cost effective solution to the customer and business whilst keeping to current gas regulations and energy efficiency legislation.
  • Identifying any defects/issues with the customer's existing heating system that may affect the installation taking place and to discuss alternatives where possible.
  • Identify any on site Health & Safety risks/issues which may hinder the installation taking place.
  • Supplying the customer with a clear understanding of all works to be carried out and any alterations to their property.
  • Demonstrating a high level of customer service at all times and answer any technical questions.
  • Ensure all administration tasks are preformed in line with company procedures.
  • Strictly adhere to company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Flexible approach to working hours for customer demand.

Successful applicants will have extensive knowledge and understanding of all variations of boiler, central heating and electrical installations, building and gas safe regulations, health and safety legislation (including the use of work place assessments). You are likely to have had a career to date in a business that requires constant process analysis and improvement, and have the drive to fulfill your role whilst maintaining constructive and effective relationships with the rest of the organization. Although not essential, experience of renewable heating solutions, including Air-Source Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal would be a distinct advantage.

As you will be providing professional technical services, demonstrable evidence of current qualifications is essential. These should include current gas qualifications (through an Accredited Certification Scheme), including CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, WAT1 and Unvented Hot Water. In addition, a minimum NVQ Level 2/C&G or equivalent in a plumbing and/or heating related discipline is essential as is full driving license (maximum six penalty points). Additional appropriate electrical qualifications would be a distinct advantage. You need to be literate, numerate and comfortable using laptops or PDA's in order to complete documentation related to work activities. You must be able to act independently, prioritize work and make intelligent decisions whilst having the judgment to know when to discuss and gain support from management.

Domestic Gas Installation and Service Engineers

As part of our development in to the domestic gas installation market, we are now looking for a professional, enthusiastic and customer service focussed team of Domestic Gas Installation and Service Engineers to join the organisation.

These engineers will successfully perform domestic gas boiler installations, servicing and maintenance, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the customer's satisfaction within the requirements of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations. Reporting to the senior sales manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating leads and opportunities, improving lead to quote and quote to conversions through the implementation of a continuous improvement plan.
  • Completing field visits, site surveys, designs, reports, quotations, follow ups, securing orders and prompt payment.
  • Assisting in the development of shared plans with the sales team, marketing team and other departments.
  • Effectively coordinating with operations to manage installations to prompt and effective completion.

You currently are a top sales manager in the renewable energy sector/construction industry market with several years experience in sales & business development roles. You must have demonstrable success and experience in achieving targets through your own efforts and as part of a team and be able to demonstrate an ability to achieve objectives whilst maintaining constructive relationships with customers, sale colleagues and internal departments. In addition to outstanding communication, presentation and IT skills, you must be highly driven, have an ability to make pragmatic decisions, and be adaptable and comfortable working in a rapidly growing and flexible organisation.

Customer Care Advisor

We have an opportunity for an outstanding Customer Care Advisor to join the team based in our HQ, just outside Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer

Tetbury - Gloucestershire

A new opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer (with in depth training and experience in the design of all elements of renewable energy technologies) to join the existing team and support the Design Engineering Manager in the detailed design and drafting of schematics, plant room layouts and mechanical/electrical design of heat pump, biomass and solar thermal systems.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Detailed design of renewable heat installations with a particular emphasis on the integration of renewable technologies with existing infrastructure. Activities include calculations (of flow rate, heat, current, etc) equipment and control strategy selection, and detailed design and drawing in accordance with installation standards and specifications. A key element of all Ecovision installations is that they meet the technical and commercial expectations of our clients, in addition to our internal objectives as a commercial business
  • Assisting the Design Engineering Manager in the selection and specification of equipment, including evaluation of new technologies and opportunities.
  • In addition to clients, external M&E contractors and consultants, effective liaison with Ecovision Operations and Technical Sales teams. This activity includes initial feasibility assessment at the early quotation/tender stages of a project, on-going support through system design and installation in addition to after sales support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified as a mechanical/electrical/building services engineer at HNC/degree level and above, and have appropriate building services/renewable energy industry qualifications and accreditations.
  • In-depth training and experience in the design of all elements of renewable energy technologies. Knowledge of the design, operation and control of district heat networks would be a distinct advantage as would understanding of heat metering requirements for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
  • Knowledge of pressure systems standards and controls, CDM legislation and the use of CIBSE selection guides. Knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Highly developed and effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills. Ability to act independently, prioritize work and make intelligent but pragmatic business decisions whilst having the judgment to know when to discuss and gain support from the Operations team.

REGIONAL SOLAR PV SURVEYORS

4 - 6 month temporary contracts with potential for extension

We now have several opportunities for Solar PV Surveyors to join our growing organization. The roles will involve travel to survey and installation sites within a particular geographical area and company vehicles will be provided for the use during working hours and accommodation provided when the job requires an overnight stay. The surveyors will ideally be based in and cover the following geographical regions:

  • 1 x North East/North West/Yorkshire
  • 1 x East Midlands/East England
  • 1 x South East
  • 1 x South West
  • 1 x West Midlands/West/South Wales

As Solar PV Surveyors your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting client property surveys in order to assess existing installations for compliance and/or assessing suitability for solar PV system installation.
  • Selecting appropriate remedial works and /or pv system designs and installation methods based on survey findings, including detailed assessments of access methods (this may include technical drawings and schematics).
  • Completing all necessary documentation associated with solar PV surveys, system selection and design.

Ideally candidates should have the following experience:

  • Be a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Have extensive experience of surveying for solar PV systems supported. In addition, DEA or NDEA qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Possess good written skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.

In House Licenced Conveyancer /Contracts Manager

Following the exciting development of a new project, we are now searching for an exceptionally talented in house licenced conveyancer /contracts manager, to process all our legal, administrative, finance and queries relating to transactions across the range of our consumer finance products. The objectives of this position are to:

  • Grow and manage the Contracts Administration Team
  • Evaluate customer title records
  • Create customer contracts in association with company guidelines
  • Be responsible for registering restrictions against title records with HM Land Registry in favour of our Company
  • Liaise with client solicitors, HM Land Registry, finance companies and other regulatory bodies as necessary
  • Be responsible for all legal due diligence associated with relevant contracts
  • Review and check all customer signed contracts for accuracy and quality
